Single Minute Exchange of Dies
SMED (SINGLE MINUTE EXCHANGE OF DIES) TRAINING
PURPOSE OF THE SEMINAR
Thanks to this technique, which was first introduced by Shigeo Shingo in Japan, we can produce in smaller batches and even switch to the "one-piece flow". A factory that can implement this technique can get rid of in-process inventory, reduce the need for working capital, and shorten the time to respond to customer demands. This training aims to raise the awareness of the personnel who will convert the manufacturing process from running the current product to running the next product.
